Aquamedic 500ml Antiphos Aquamedic 500ml Antiphos
Ref: ANTIPH1
Aquamedic 500ml Antiphos
In an aquarium, phosphate results in over fertilisation, which in turn produces excess algal growth. antiphos is an active absorbent for the removal of phosphate from fresh and salt water aquariums. antiphos is based on natural zeolite, which has been chemically treated so that it binds phosphate. When the material is saturated it is removed and thereby completely removes the phosphate from the aquarium
500ml treats approx 200 litres of aquarium water for 2-3 months.

Aquamedic Antiphos Fe 500ml Aquamedic Antiphos Fe 500ml
Ref: ANTIPHFE1
Aquamedic Antiphos Fe is an ideal medium for selectively extracting phosphate and silicate from aquarium water, thus counteracting unwanted algal growth. Antiphos Fe is a highly active iron based product containing no aluminium and is completely non toxic to aquarium plants and animals. Phosphate is irreversibly bound to the Antiphos Fe and is removed from the aquarium when the Antiphos Fe is renewed. It is particularly effective in controlling phosphate in coral reef aquariums and can reduce the phosphate concentration to very low levels for a considerable time. The coarse particle size of Antiphos Fe enables high water flow rates, so fluidised filter beds are not required. The binding capacity of Antiphos Fe is c. 10g phosphate/kg.
Subject to the conditions 500 ml of Antiphos Fe will treat a normally populated 300l aquarium for c. 3 - 6 months.

Aquamedic Carbolit Aquamedic Carbolit
Carbolit comprises of highly efficient activated carbon pellets. Carbolit quickly clears aquarium water and removes colouring substances, turbidity and medication residues. Yellowing substances such as phenols and tannins that can accumulate in the water are also removed. carbolit may also be used as a long-term filter material. After a short period, bacteria settle on the pellets making the carbon work as a biological filter - aerobically and anaerobically. carbolit is pH neutral and can be used in fresh and salt water aquaria

Aquamedic 5 litres Bactoballs Aquamedic 5 litres Bactoballs
Ref: BACTOB2
Aquamedic Bactoballs are the optimum filter medium for biological filters. They can be used in trickle filters and denitrification reactors, and in larger aquaculture systems. The flat plate construction with clear paths between the plates ensure a very even distribution of water, and means that the bactoballs will not clump or clog. The large surface area of 300 m2 / m3 allows for a high concentration of active bacterial biomass.

Aquamedic Hydrocarbonat Aquamedic Hydrocarbonat
Hydrocarbonate is a pure natural product. It is used in Calcium Reactors, and may be used in filters to increase the hardness of water, and as a substrate material in marine or Malawi/Tanganyika aquaria. A natural calcium-carbonic acid equilibrium is created in all aquariums with an alkaline pH value, and in a Calcium Reactor supplied with CO2, the hydrocarbonate is completely dissolved to calcium bicarbonate, becoming available for assimilation by hard and many soft corals, sponges, echinoderms, etc.
hydrocarbonate available in 3 grain sizes: and 3 packaging sizes:
fine (1 - 2 mm) for ‘hardening ’ filters
medium (3 - 5 mm) for Calcium Reactors
coarse (12 - 15 mm) as filter material

Aquamedic 5 litres Multiballs Aquamedic 5 litres Multiballs
Ref: MULTIB2
Multiballs are a plastic filter medium in which the biological function can be combined with a desired chemical filtration. They resemble large bactoballs (44mm Ø). Their properties ensure a large surface area and good water distribution. The secret of the multiball is that it consists of two half spheres that can be easily separated. The outer surface provides a perfect site for the formation of bacterial colonies for biological filtration whilst inside the multiball is a cavity which can be filled with numerous types of chemical filter media. Depending on the requirements of the aquarium’s inhabitants, multiballs can be filled with activated carbon (carbolit), antiphos, zeolite, hydrocarbonate, or peat granules. Thus the multiball can function as an individual biological or chemical filter material for use in trickle filters or in canister filters.

Aquamedic 0.8 litre box Deniballs Aquamedic 0.8 litre box Deniballs
Ref: DENIB1
Aquamedic Deniballs are manufactured from a unique biologically based plastic. In the absence of oxygen, anaerobic bacteria metabolize this material. These bacteria are used for the reduction of nitrates - reducing nitrate to nitrogen gas. One to three packages of 0.8 litres (c. 0.2 gal) each is enough to supply the Nitratreductor as the sole food source for 12 months. For the Nitratreductor NR 5000, about 5 litres (1.3 gallons) are required. Changing the deniballs after approximately 12 months is recommended to ensure safe and maintenance free denitrification in fresh and salt water aquaria

Aquamedic 1 litre Cerapone Aquamedic 1 litre Cerapone
Ref: CERAP1
Aquamedic Cerapore is a micro-porous ceramic filter media for use in bio-filters. It is produced from pure ceramic fired at high temperature and is free of residues so it can be safely used in fresh and salt water aquaria. cerapore has an enormous internal surface area that is fully available for bacterial colonisation, and its open pores are so formed that the media is nonclogging and stays clear, even under long term use. This results in high biological waste reduction rates in a very small volume.
Cerapore may be used in trickle filters or in submerged filters. When used submersed, anaerobic areas may be formed in the centre of the media, which may help with nitrate reduction. Under ideal conditions, 1 litre of cerapore will filter 200 litres of fresh or salt water aerobically

Aquamedic Biosponge are cylinder shaped filter sponges, 25 mm high and 25 mm in diameter and can be used in trickle or submersed filters. A large surface area is created by the pore structure of 60 ppi. Biosponge is particularly suited to highly loaded filter systems as it can be rinsed and re-used.

Aquamedic Sulfur Pearls 1 litre Aquamedic Sulfur Pearls 1 litre
Ref: AQMSP1
Aquamedic sulfur pearls are sulphur beads formed from pure sulphur. They are used in Sulphur nitrate reactors as the filter medium and energy source for the bacteria. They have to be replaced from time to time as they are slowly consumed by the bacteria. Caution: Use only in nitrate removing anaerobic filters having a low water flow rate. The pH value and carbonate hardness (alkalinity) of the aquarium must be monitored regularly. We recommend sulphur filters are only used only in combination with a hardness reactor, filled with Hydrocarbonate, to neutralise the acid produced.
