Aquamedic Kalkwasser Reactor is for production of Kalkwasser, for salt water aquaria up to 2000 l volume
The Kalkwasser reactor is a sealed unit designed to supply reef aquariums with Calcium by enriching the fresh water top up supply.
It uses the Kalkwasser-method and is filled with Calcium hydroxide, which is intermittently agitated by a pump. It is possible to automate the system by combining an automatic level controller such as the ab aquaniveau single with the Aqua Medic Kalkwasserreactor. The reactor is designed to accommodate a pH electrode to control the quality of the kalkwasser.
An additional advantage of this method is, that phosphate is removed from the top up and the aquarium water.

Aquamedic Kalkwasser stirrers automatically produce Kalkwasser to replace the evaporated water in saltwater aquaria. They should be used in conjunction with an automatic refill device, e.g. the Niveaumat. The top up water is pumped from a reverse osmosis or a reservoir through the Kalkwasser stirrer. Inside the unit a sediment of Calciumhydroxide powder is slowly stirred so it is kept in suspension.
